Gedling set for budget cuts meeting

MEMBERS of Gedling Borough Council will meet tonight to discuss ways to save £370,000.
The council needs to fill the gap in its budget in order to balance the books next year.
Options include closing cemeteries earlier and cutting park patrols in winter.
The council has cut its budget gap from around £1.5m last year by becoming more efficient, closing its Cemetery Lodge office, and introducing car parking charges.
When councillors first agreed to introduce charging, they believed it would bring in more than £1.1m in 2010/11
